An Editing Software Showdown

October 17th, 2008

We are giving you fair warning, set your DVR to record this weeks “How I Met Your Mother” and head over to the Holiday Inn/Dedham on Monday night to see the coolest thing since sliced bread. Well maybe it’s not THAT cool, but when’s the last time you saw an editing software showdown? Umm probably never!

Here are the details…

Have you ever wondered – How does my editing software stack up? Am I on the right track? Do you struggle to discern the respective strengths of Liquid, Premiere, Vegas, Edius and FCP?

On Monday, October 20th, 7:30 PM at the Holiday Inn/Dedham, just outside of Boston, the National Professional Videographer’s Association of New England will host an Editing Software Showdown, sponsored by Avid, Adobe, Sony, Thomson/Grass Valley.

This is collegial competition with a pop! – an immediate way to be educated, enlightened and entertained about the similarities and differences between editing systems as they are presented side by side.

The Format:

Representatives from the 5 major editing softwares: Apple, Avid, Adobe, Sony and Thomson/Grass Valley will each have 20 minutes to present the most compelling attributes of their softwares. Additionally, each representative, will have 5 minutes to execute a project common to each software so that you the viewer can see the workflow and any qualitative differences.

Raffle Items!!!

Through the kindness of the sponsoring companies, and your business card, we will raffle off the following items:

1 Copy of Avid Media Composer
1 Copy of Sony Vegas 8.0
1 Copy of Edius 5.0
1 Copy of Adobe CS 4 Production Premium Suite

Could there be a more important place for you to be on the third Monday in October?

Admission is free, but you must RSVP.
