MediaSilo 2.0

MediaSilo has officially launched version 2.0. In the great online world 2.0 is used rather loosely, but to us at MediaSilo it means something a little bit different.

2.0 is the culmination of a year of hard work, sweat, tears, and a lot of user feedback.

Users now have access to a new metadata engine that makes managing custom fields much easier. Transcripts, custom fields, and tags are now available on one simple screen and we have implemented batch-updating metadata on multiple assets – a real time saver when you’re dealing with a large number of assets.

Collaboration has been at the core of MediaSilo since the very beginning, and we’re excited to introduce a completely overhauled version of the module that introduces threaded discussions, an improved user interface for timeline-based annotations, easier access to Full Screen, QuickLink, and Download, as well as new export options. MediaSilo now supports three streaming protocols to enabled reliable and fast video playback in any environment: true streaming (rtmp), tunneled streaming (rtmpt), and progressive download (http).

Finally, MediaSilo.com has a new, fresh look. It was time to say goodbye to our old site that had served us well for much too long. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Finally, we wish everyone a Happy New year and want to express our sincerest appreciation for all Silo Heads out there. We feel privileged to work with so many of you to create tools that change workflows, save time, and open the doors to new opportunities. We look forward to working with you and for you for years to come.

From all of us at MediaSilo – Thank you.
