Elgato goes HD

March 31st, 2009

Did you know that Elgato just released a Turbo.264 HD encoder? As a proud Elgato user, MediaSilo is pumped at how fast and efficient the Elgato truly is. At NAB we will be raffling off two Turbo.264 HD encoders daily (that’s 8 in 4 days!). Come by lower South hall and drop off your business card. We’ll draw two random cards at 4pm each day. Stop by our booth SL9512, take a peek at MediaSilo and enter to win an Elgato Turbo.264 HD.

Update – Version 1.8.3 Built 4880

March 3rd, 2009

While we’re gearing up for some great new features to be lauched at this year’s NAB in April, a few smaller improvements have found their way through the development pipeline including some helpful updates for QuickLinks, embeds and channel lineups.

First, we’ve streamlined the Quicklink feature for clips.  The QuickLink now allows you to directly email any workspace user a direct link to the clip without opening your email program.  Simply check off the users you want to receive the link and add a custom message if you like.

We’ve also made it easier for you to embed clips in your own flash projects.  If you’d like to host a clip from your MediaSilo account, click “embed” from the clip viewer or info panel and in addition to the standard embed player code, you’ll also get the direct url.  Simply enter this in the appropriate location in your flash project code and you’re in business.

We’ve made some changes to allow you to change file titles within lineups.  Because naming conventions may be different from your production workflow to what you want the public to see, we’ve made it possible for you to rename files within lineups.  Just double-click on the file title and rename.  Now your file will post as, “Acme Production Reel,” instead of “prod_reel_cut3.mov.”  Nice, huh.
