MediaSilo coming to the iPhone

MediaSilo coming to iPhone

These days it’s hard to avoid the iPhone. It’s everywhere and seems to be especially popular among the producer crowd. The NAB 2008 FinaCut Pro Supermeet could have easily been dubbed “iPhone Love Fest”. Never before have I seen so many iPhones in one place.

Well, we do love our iPhones and that’s why we’ve started to work on an iPhone compatible version of MediaSilo. It’s early beta and we have lots more to do. Release 1 lets you log in to your account and browse your workspaces, view file meta data, thumbnails, comments and annotations. Later releases will actually let you view clips online, submit comments, approvals etc.

We’ll post updates to this blog so stay tuned. For now, check out http://iphone.mediasilo.com.

MediaSilo on Inside Mac Radio

August 8th, 2008

Thanks to Scott Sheppard, Brad Wright and the gang at Inside Mac Radio. The crew talked with us on the latest podcast about our ridiculously low price packages and amazing online video toolsuite. We’re finding that the MediaSilo platform has applications far beyond what we thought a year or two ago. With new technology and lower prices for storage and bandwidth, the power of MediaSilo can provide efficient, cost-effective workflow for nearly anyone. From small non-profit organizations, one-man video companies to tech savvy families, there are applications for our content management, collaboration and web broadcast tools. Pretty cool, actually.

It also seems Mac devotees have a particular fondness for MediaSilo because our UI sort of looks Mac-ish. We like to think it’s not only about looks, but about usability. We put a lot of time and thought into cutting down on clicks and streamlining the workflow to make you more efficient. As always, we love thoughts, suggestions and wish lists. Send them anytime. Thanks again, Inside Mac.

News Release: MediaSilo Key to ABC’s “Wipeout”

August 5th, 2008

Casting ABC’s Tuesday night hit Wipeout!, presented a monumental task for Endemol USA, the show’s producers. However, online video collaboration and content management leaders MediaSilo enabled the casting team to streamline the process and cut costs and schedules in half.

“I budgeted ten weeks for this project,” said Mikey Glaser, freelance casting director. “With MediaSilo, I did it in five.”

Glaser also said similar projects would require up to ten casting assistants, but in using MediaSilo he was able to complete the project with just one. Wipeout!, is just one of many examples of Hollywood’s move to MediaSilo for pre-production projects like casting, collaboration and approval. Other clients include Freemantle Media and TBS.

“It’s a great fit,” says MediaSilo CEO Kai Pradel. “MediaSilo was born from a production environment, so our workflow is custom tailored to casting workflows.”

“Wipeout! is a good example of how the MediaSilo online tool suite can cut costs and dramatically increase productivity in the demanding and time-sensitive network or syndication production environment,” he said.

“I’ll never do another project without it,” added Glaser.

MediaSilo recently announced an aggressive pricing structure offering limited free service and an unlimited storage and bandwidth solution for $99 a month. The new pricing packages are believed to be the most competitive in the industry. Pricing and plans are also featured on the company’s website at http://mediasilo.com

Online video management and collaboration leader MediaSilo, has upgraded the company’s front-end web presence. The new site, http://mediasilo.com , uses flash content to highlight the MediaSilo platform’s streamlined workflow for video production, post and mainstream web broadcast applications.

“Our new web presence reflects our commitment to customer workflow incorporating MediaSilo,” said Kai Pradel, CEO. “The new site outlines these new workflows that cut costs, increase productivity and revenues.”

In addition to a core customer base of video production and post, MediaSilo has seen significant growth in other markets including healthcare, corporate PR and worship. MediaSilo credits this growth to the versatility and customization options in it’s online application platform.
